Doctor urges vaccination as measles cases rise

The Kentucky Department of Public Health confirmed 82 measles cases across 11 counties: Christian 36, Trigg 19, Washington, Carroll and Barren 5 each, Jessamine 4, Caldwell, Lewis and Owen 2 each, Todd and Trimble 1 each (Mountain Eagle, Sept. 30).

Kentucky's statewide measles count climbed to 67 in 2026, per the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (WBKR, Sept. 25). Four Jessamine County cases are not part of the current outbreak; 7 hospitalized, no deaths.
